Dock & Dine: A Guide to Lake Martin’s Marina Restaurants
Spring is in full swing, and summer is on the horizon which can only mean one thing for Lake Martin residents and visitors: it’s time to hit the water! Lake Martin boasts fifteen marinas and nineteen launches. Each marina has something special to offer, and we’ve spent a lifetime exploring all of them. Some are quaint while others are expansive, and that’s what makes the marinas on Lake Martin so unique: there really is a marina for everyone. One of the features we love about our marinas is that a few of them feature on-site restaurants and snack shacks. From casual fare to sweeping views, these Lake Martin marinas provide everything from ship and bait shops to wet and dry docks and of course, great eats. If you’re looking to dock your boat and have dinner near Lake Martin’s water, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s our guide to Lake Martin’s marina restaurants.
Anchor Bay Marina – Anchor Bay is a full service marina in the center of Lake Martin which means it’s in the thick of it all. There, you’ll find a 5,000 square foot showroom and accompanying ship’s store. If you’re looking for a place to dry dock your boat, Anchor Bay has you covered. They also offer rentals for those looking to explore the water without making the ownership commitment. Harbor Docks at Anchor Bay is another highlight of this marina. Find some of the best eats on Lake Martin and occasional live music, too.
Chuck’s Marina – We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again, Chuck’s Marina might be one of the highlights of this spring season. With Chuckwalla’s Pizzeria making its newly renovated debut, and live music throughout the season, Chuck’s Marina is the place to be. Patrons and boat enthusiasts alike will love this laid back marina in Dadeville.
Harbor Pointe Marina – Located inside Stillwaters, Harbor Pointe Marina is open seven days a week for all of your boating needs. The marina’s ship store sells everything from wakeboards to sunglasses along with snacks and beverages for your day on the water. Harbor Pointe even bakes fresh biscuits every weekend throughout the summer. Perhaps our favorite feature at Harbor Pointe, though, is the service to and from Copper’s Grill. Copper’s Grill will pick you up from Harbor Pointe Marina to take you to their restaurant which showcases live music on the weekends. With service like that, what’s not to love?
Kowaliga Marina – A part of Russell Lands’ four marinas, Kowaliga Marina is one of our favorites because it’s home to one of the best restaurants in town: Kowaliga. With stunning views of Lake Martin and a menu that will knock you off your Sea-Doo, Kowaliga is a place we send all of our friends and family. This summer you’ll even find a crawfish boil the first Sunday of each month. In addition to the restaurant, the Kowaliga Marina has everything from wet-slip storage to gas docks and a retail store. Plus, the marina is open year-round with deep water access.
Parker Creek Marina – The marina offers 184 slips along with a large waterfront ship’s store and a complete line of boats for any aspiring captain. Plus, we can’t say enough good things about the restaurant. With the Landing at Parker Creek reopening for the season next week, now is the time to make your plans to visit. The kitchen and bar are both made from shipping containers, and diners will enjoy sitting under the restaurant pavilion, too. With 21 dedicated restaurant slips, you can pull right up to the restaurant after a day of fun on the water. The Landing offers casual, waterfront dining at it’s best!
Wind Creek State Park – This state park offers affordable wet slip rental along with other unique amenities. After all, it’s not every day that you can camp on a boat slip. In addition to camping, visitors will find live bait, game and fishing licenses, and RV and boat supplies at the marina store along with picnic pavilions, horse trails, and hiking trails. Don’t miss Creem at the Creek, the local outdoor restaurant that features hand-dipped Mayfield ice cream. Wind Creek State Park offers fun for the entire family.
If you’re a boat owner, or picture yourself as a future boat owner, we’d love to see you at the Russell Marine In-Water Boat Show, April 28-30. Join us at the Ridge on April 29 for not one, but two open houses. Contact us to set-up your appointment or simply plan to drop in. We’d love to see you there. Who knows? Maybe you’ll walk away that weekend with a new boat and a new home!
