Lake Martin 4th of July 2020
For many cities across the country, the 4th of July holidays won’t be the same. 30A, famous for their fireworks that dot the Gulf Coast have canceled their celebrations. Atlanta, the host of the annual Peachtree Road Race, the largest 10K in the country, has postponed its run until November. The reason? Too many people in the age of COVID-19.
Lake Martin, however, is different because we have the land (and the water!) to spread out. While there won’t be quite as many events as in years past, there are the tried and true favorites to put on your calendar. The fun starts on Friday and goes well into the night on Saturday. Here’s what’s happening:
Arti Gras, July 3-4, 2020
Just shy of a decade since its inception, Arti Gras is our annual art show. Artisans sell everything from jewelry to art and from furniture to food! This year the outside event will feature fewer booths, and artists will be a bit more distant than the past. However, it’s sure to be a wonderful way to get outside and support local makers and vendors. Find more information here.
Friday on the Green, July 3, 2020
For 4th of July weekend, the 2019 ISSA (International Singer Songwriter Association) Female Vocalist of the Year, Jessie Lynn, will grace Russell Crossroads with her talent. The show starts on the Green Stage at 6:30. To ensure proper social distancing, find a spot in one of the pre-marked circles! Find more information here.
Yoga on the Green, July 4, 2020
Kick your July 4th holiday off with a little zen and participate in yoga on the green at Town Green at Russell Crossroads. As always, all levels are welcome and distance will be enforced. Find more information here.
4th of July Boat Parade, July 4, 2020
This long-time Lake Martin tradition is one that kids and kids at heart get excited about every year: the boat parade! Watch the festivities as loads of boats decorated in their red, white, and blue best parade from Kowaliga to Bear Bryant Point. Prizes will be awarded in different categories and trust us when we say captains and their crew take their decor very seriously. Find more information here.
Fireworks at the Amp, July 4, 2020
For almost 20 years, the Amp has hosted the South’s largest fireworks show over Lake Martin. Needless to say, it’s not to be missed. Pack a blanket and a picnic, find your spot on the lush grass and enjoy live music before the fireworks begin at 9. Note: this is a ticketed event with limited tickets available. Find more information here.
Happy July 4th, y’all!
