Awesome Lake Martin Events to Put on your Calendar this July
Even though we usually associate the best Lake Martin events with July 4th, the rest of the fun doesn’t end there. In fact, some of the best events are happening later in the month, so today, we’re here to tell you all about them. From new workout classes to water-centric poker tournaments, you won’t want to miss what Lake Martin has to offer this July!
You’ve probably heard of stand-up paddleboarding (SUP for short) and water aerobics. But have you tried your hand at aqua stand-up classes yet? Tie-up to your instructor’s board and participate in a group class unlike any other. Classes run throughout the month, are just $15 and boards can be rented for a nominal fee. The next class is July 20 at 8:30 AM. Call Kowaliga Marina to sign-up.
This annual event is not to be missed! According to organizers, “Participants will register and draw their first card at The Ridge Marina, and then draw a card at each of the next four stops along the way, hoping to build the high hand and win the $1,700 prize.” Gather your crew and your entry fee and try to win! Prizes include Best Hand, Worst Hand, and Best Crew. Plus, each participant gets an official Poker Run t-shirt, a Lake Martin summer t-shirt, two meal tickets for the party, and one key which may open the treasure chest containing $2,000 in additional prizes. The event takes place July 20 and starts at 8:00 AM!

All proceeds benefit the town of Waverly, and it’s one of the premier events of the summer. The showdown is on July 27. Hope to see you there!
